Nahaleh Moshtagh, PHD. (Director)

Dr. Nahaleh Moshtagh is a Clinical Psychologist (Iran University of Medical Sciences) and Psychoanalyst (Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute) practicing in Toronto, Canada. She is one of the founding members of HamAva Institute for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

Dr. Moshtagh is a member of the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA), and the American Psychoanalytic Association (APsaA). She is an Associate Member of the Psychoanalytic Society of the William Alanson White Institute in New York City, and on the Panel of Reviewers for the International Journal of Psychoanalysis.

Zohreh Amrollahi, MD.

Dr. Zohre Amrollahi, a psychiatrist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist, graduated from the Medical School of Tehran Azad University. She completed her psychiatric residency at Tehran University and started psychoanalytic psychotherapy training at Rozbeh Hospital.

She is also a graduate of the Comprehensive Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program at Hamava Institute. In September 2017, she founded the Kasra Comprehensive Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Center in Karaj.

Ensiyeh Enjedany, PhD.

Ensiyeh Enjedany, PhD. Is a Psychologist and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist in private practice in Tehran. She is a graduate of the “Three-Year Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy” at HamAva Institute. She is also a faculty member at HamAva Institute and a Candidate in the “Advanced Object Relations Clinical Theory & Technique” program at the Object Relations Institute; New York City (ORINYC).

Dr. Enjedany is a Co-Founder of the professional website www.ispp-group.com and Instagram page “Iranian School of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (@ispp_group), designed for teaching psychoanalytic psychotherapy, from basic to advanced concepts, to psychologists, psychiatrists and counselors.

R. Dennis Shelby, PhD.

R. Dennis Shelby, PhD. is a Training and Supervising Analyst at Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis, the President of Chicago Psychoanalytic Society, the Director of Distance Education in Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute and Professor Emeritus at the Institute for Clinical Social Work. He is the chair of the Committee on Advocacy Relations, member of the Service Members and Veterans Initiative, Gender and Sexuality Committees and a mentor for the Teacher’s Academy of the American Psychoanalytic Association. He is a graduate of the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis, The Institute for Clinical Social Work and Loyola University School of Social Work.

Golnoosh Shahbaz, PhD.

Golnoosh Shahbaz, PhD. is a clinical Psychologist and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist in private practice in Canada, Toronto. She is graduated a graduate of “Three-Year Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy” based on the tripartite model (academic coursework, supervised analytic cases, personal analysis) at HamAva Institute. She is now a faculty member at HamAva Institute and post-graduated from in mental health of infant and early childhood, Seneca College, Toronto.

She specializes in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with adults and couples and supervises psychology interns and trainees and lectures on Family Violence.  

Gurmeet Kanwal, MD

Gurmeet S. Kanwal, M.D., is Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, and Supervising Psychoanalyst and Teaching Faculty at the William Alanson White Institute in New York City. He is Past-President of the William Alanson White Psychoanalytic Society and Editorial Board Member and Fellow of the College of the International Journal of Psychoanalysis.

Safoora Mohammadian, PhD.

Safoora Mohammadian, PhD. is a Clinical Psychologist and an Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist in private practice in Tehran. She is a graduate of the Comprehensive Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program at Hamava Institute, and a member of its Teaching Faculty. She specializes in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with adults, and supervises psychology interns and trainees. She teaches several courses in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at Hamava Institute.

Dr. Mohammadian has trained in Object Relations theory and Sexology and Sex Therapy.

Saba Moghaddam

Saba Moghaddam is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and a PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology. She is a graduate of the Comprehensive Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program at Hamava Institute and a member of its Teaching Faculty.

Saba Moghaddam is in private practice in Tehran and specializes in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with Adults and Couples and supervises psychology interns and therapists and also lectures on topics related to theory and technique and psychoanalytic Couples Therapy.

Arthur C. Nielsen, MD.

Arthur C. Nielsen, MD is Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Feinberg School of Medicine Northwestern University, faculty of Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute, The Family Institute at Northwestern University and Chicago Center for Family Health of the University of Chicago. He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is a member of American Psychiatric Association, American Family Therapy Academy, Chinese American Psychoanalytic Association and American Psychoanalytic Association (APsaA). He is on the Editorial Boards of Family Process, Journal of Marital and Family Therapy.

Katherine Williams, PhD

Katherine Williams, PhD, is a psychoanalyst and psychotherapist in private practice in Chicago  where she treats adults, children and couples. She completed her analytic training at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute and is a relational self psychologist. Dr. Williams has a clinical specialty in the treatment of psychotic patients and patients dealing with serious mental illness. In addition, she actively works to make psychoanalysis an accessible treatment option for patients.  Dr. Williams is a member of the China American Psychoanalytic Alliance (CAPA) where she provides psychoanalytic treatment for advanced psychotherapy students.
